Alignment
We share a purpose and priorities.
“Does this team share a clear picture of where we are going, and why now?”
Alignment means a shared picture of where the team is going and why now, even when people still differ on the details. Without it, capable people pull hard in different directions, and functions end up duplicating or undoing each other’s work.
Observable when present
- Team members would name the same top three priorities if asked separately.
- When priorities change, the team quickly gets clear on what needs to happen next.
- People make independent decisions that align with our shared direction.
